What "Custom Printed Balloons" Actually Covers

"Custom printed balloons" is a broad term that spans several very different products and printing methods. Getting the terminology right in your RFQ avoids quoting delays and sampling rework. The main personalization routes are logo printing, full-color photo printing, name and letter balloons, and custom die-cut shapes — each with its own substrate, MOQ, and lead time.

Personalization Methods

Logo & brand printing

Screen printing is the workhorse for custom balloons with a logo: 1–4 spot colors, Pantone matching, and one or both sides of the balloon. It is the most cost-effective method for solid logos and the lowest MOQ entry point. Full-wrap and 360° wrap printing are available on 11"–12" latex for edge-to-edge artwork.

Photo & full-color balloons

Custom photo balloons use full-color (CMYK) transfer or digital printing to reproduce a photograph or detailed multi-color artwork. They carry a higher unit cost and MOQ than spot-color logos, so they suit premium promotional runs rather than commodity packs.

Name, letter & number balloons

For names and messages, buyers usually combine 16"/32" foil number and letter balloons with printed latex. Letter and number foils are stocked in standard metallics and can be custom-colored for larger programs.

Custom shaped & mylar balloons

Custom mylar balloons are die-cut from BOPP/nylon film into bespoke shapes (mascots, product silhouettes, logos as a physical outline). Tooling for a new die adds cost and lead time, so these are specified for brand campaigns and repeat programs.

Buyer Checklist

Send these with your RFQ for an accurate quote: balloon type and size, personalization method (logo / photo / name / shape), number of print colors or Pantone codes, target quantity per design, packaging format (polybag, header card, printed box), destination market (for EN71 / ASTM / REACH testing), and required delivery date.

Can you print a photo on balloons?

Yes. Custom photo balloons use full-color transfer or digital printing to reproduce photographs and detailed artwork. They have a higher MOQ and unit cost than spot-color logo printing, so they suit premium promotional runs.

Do you make custom name or letter balloons?

Yes. We combine 16"/32" foil number and letter balloons with printed latex for names and messages, and can custom-color letter foils for larger programs.

What is the MOQ for custom printed balloons?

Indicatively from 3,000 pcs per design for screen-printed latex. Custom photo balloons and custom die-cut mylar shapes have higher minimums, confirmed per specification.

Can you produce a custom balloon shape from our design?

Yes. We die-cut custom mylar/foil shapes from your artwork. New shapes require a die (tooling), which adds cost and lead time but is reusable across repeat orders.
